Associate Buyer/Planner
The buyer /planner will work closely with the CFO, Procurement Manager, and COO, to ingrate forecasts and create a procurement plan for both purchased and produced goods. In addition, the buyer planner will be responsible for procurement of MRO (non inventory goods), and some inventory goods. The buyer planner will specifically:
Buyer Duties
o Spend the first 6 months learning our procurement processes, vendors, and product
o Perform as the backup to the Procurement manager for all inventory purchases
o Work with Procurement manager to create PO's, determine procurement amounts, and monitor inventory levels
o Help with negotiating supplier contracts and service agreements
o Take ownership of all capital and non-inventory procurement
o Own data entry for all Bills of Material, Item Master and other planning data
Planner Duties
o After spending 6 months learning procurement, transition 40% of time to the planning function
o Monitor monthly sales against forecasts and report major deviations
o Participate in quarterly forecasting meetings as the voice of supply chain
o Create a monthly production plan based on forecasts and inventory levels, another metrics
o Work the CFO and COO to set target levels of inventory for finished goods and components
o Communicate Production plans to procurement and production personnel
o Help feed procurement and production plans into the yearly budget
o Work with the entire supply chain team to head off supply issues before they impact logistics
Qualifications:
o Four year degree required
o 5-10 years of experience (In purchasing or supply chain)
o Knowledge of the tea and beverage industry a plus
o Experience in supply chain planning and procurement required
o Willingness for occasional travel
o Strong analytical skill set
o In depth knowledge of Excel and spreadsheets
o Any supply chain or purchasing certifications a strong plus
o Self-motivated and high attention to detail
